Thursdays
for the under-10's to under-13 year olds, and on a Thursday for those
children under-7s up to under-9 year olds.
Training takes place on the DSW sports field. Since the internal sports
day takes place yearly at the end of July, training takes place mainly
during the 2nd trimester.
The following disciplines are offered:
Under-7s to under-9s: 80m running, far jump, ball throwing and 8 x 80m
relay.
Under-10s to over 13s: 80m and 100m running, 800m hurdles, long jump,
high jump, shot-put, javelin and 4 x 100m relay.
Those athletes who receive a first, second or third place at the internal
sports day, continue to train for the regional and national sports meetings.
These sports meetings always take place in February and March of the
next year.
